The Official Loch Ness Monster Sighting Register now has six validated entries for 2026 — already matching the entire total for 2025 with more than half the year still to go. A dark greenish-gray hump two feet out of the water near the Caledonian Canal. A shape photographed from a cruise boat. An object spotted on the live webcam moving against the current. An 18-inch triangular whitish-gray fin moving through the center of the loch. Here's the thing: the descriptions across all six sightings don't converge on a single creature. A white triangular fin is not obviously the same animal as a dark greenish-gray hump the size of a double-decker bus. That inconsistency isn't a reason to dismiss it. It might be the most interesting part.
